2018 Kids (and Dads) Adventure Camp

A massive thank you to all of the families that attended this year’s St James Kids (and Dads) Adventure Camp making it another awesome and successful Camp.  It really is the quality of the families and the community spirit that we have at St James that makes this such a successful and sought after event.  We had over 60 families attend across the weekend with 82 people on the Friday night and 112 people on the Saturday night, with many attending both nights so that their wives could enjoy a nice and peaceful weekend.

Once again we were blessed with terrific weather and the kids had such a great time riding the horses, learning about the environment on a canoeing adventure and many learning how to surf for the first time.  It is also such a  wonderful experience seeing the children integrating across all year levels, running around together and really looking out for each other as they play around the camp site and the beach.  The marshmallows around the campfire at night also continue to be a real favourite for the kids.  It would also be fair to say that the Dads, who turn into big kids for the weekend, also had as much fun challenging their kids and other dads at the surfing and on the rides at the Water park.

Thanks again for everyone’s help and contribution to this event and be sure to book this into the calendar early for next year so that you don’t miss out.

SCHOOL BANKING

The Commonwealth School Banking program has arrived at St James Catholic Primary School to help our children develop strong financial literacy skills, plus earn some extra benefits for our school.

School Banking Day is every THURSDAY

Students are to bring their yellow bank books in each THURSDAY and put them in the banking bag in their classroom.  The bag will then be collected  by one of our banking volunteers.  Once the banking is processed the banking bag will be sent back to the class for bank books to be returned to students.
