School Captains Report

Secondary School Captains

The past fortnight has been interesting for everyone due to the new location for our Athletics Carnival, the Year Nines’ Morrisby interviews, our new SRC reps being elected, and our Sports, Performing Arts, and STEM Captains being announced.  Last Friday all the Captains and SRC reps gathered together to meet each other and begin work. The school is excited to see the new secondary leaders in play.

The School Captains have been working on planning and helping out on Harmony Day on the 17th of March. Harmony Day is a day for all cultures to come together and share and have fun, and it’s being held at our school this year. We encourage parents and students to come and support.

Starting soon we are going to have a Year 9/10 Formal Committee which is helping plan the Year  9/10 Formal that is coming in May this year.  This is the first of its kind due to the fact that the Year 9’s don’t graduate anymore, and everyone is excited to see the Formal come together. This night is for students to have fun before they have to crack down when they start exams and VCE/VCAL subjects.

The Year Nines recently got to take part in an amazing experience that will help us figure out what exactly we would want for the future and find out how our skills would be best utilised in the work force. Morrisby is a set of short tests on different aspects to determine our personality, strengths, and weaknesses and that data is analysed. We also had people from the company that came down to talk to us in depth about our data and work with us about a career and school paths we could take to achieve them.  Over all it was a great experience.
