Primary Campus Report

From the Primary

Campus Principal

Another week has come and gone on our Primary Campus. What a wonderful event our whole school athletics day was on Wednesday on our Secondary Campus. Our students continued to show our school values of Teamwork, Respect, Learning and Leadership throughout the day and it was great to see so many kids with smiles on their faces and a willingness of having a go throughout the day. It was also great seeing so many parents in attendance and watching the students compete in their events or activities.  A great sense of community pride was evident.

It is with some sadness that I report that over a number of weekends, our Primary Campus has been subject to a number of incidents of vandalism. From broken windows, ripping up of turf, outside speakers destroyed and smashed bottles throughout the school, has meant considerable time and effort has been needed to ensure problem areas are fixed and safe for students. We love our school community using our facilities after hours as it builds a sense of community pride and ownership of our school but we need your support to ensure people are using our facilities in a respectful way.  If school community members could keep an eye out for any wrong doing that would be fantastic and would support our school to provide the best and safest facilities possible. We would really appreciate your support in this matter.

Please remember we have a number of events happening on the Primary Campus across the next few weeks.

  • Cultural Diversity in Week 8 where the Primary Campus will be highlighting our many different backgrounds and engaging in lessons about different cultures and celebrations. On Friday 20th of March there will be a special Primary Assembly where students are encouraged to come dressed in their cultural dress or colours. During the assembly, students will be performing a multicultural song or dance. Families are welcome to come and watch the performances at 2:20 pm in the Primary Campus Gym.
  • Our upcoming Parent Helpers course will take place on Friday the 13th and 20th of March in our Primary Campus Staffroom from 9:00 am - 10:00 am. If parents are interested in attending these training days, notes need to be returned to the front office by today, March 6th.  A massive thank you to Leah who continues to give up her time to provide the best opportunities for our students and parents.
  • A reminder that our Mobile Dentist Van will be on site from Monday 16th March until Friday 27th March 2020. Notes have gone out to students. This is a bulk billed dental examination for treatment for students under the child dental benefit scheme (if eligible). These permission notes need to be filled out and returned to school by Tuesday 10th March. Thank you Happy Smiles for providing this service for our school community.

Have a wonderful weekend.
