Remote Learning Information

Monday 9/08/2021 - Thursday 12/08/2021

Dear Families,

Unfortunately, yesterday the Department of Education informed the school that we have returned to lockdown.

This was not the news that we were hoping for, but the school will refine its current practices to ensure that we meet the needs of our students during this extended time.

We would like to continue to emphasise that our family’s wellbeing is the highest priority and while we provide learning experiences and check ins for you and your child to engage in, we understand that some families find this difficult.

The school will continue to ensure that our students will be engaged in a Reading, Writing and Numeracy learning experience whether that be live on Microsoft Teams or as a SEESAW activity.

As previously communicated, teachers will answer questions families and students may have about the learning through the SEESAW platform. Inquiries regarding student wellbeing and engagement need to be communicated to your teacher through SENTRAL.

Families do not need new Username/Passwords as the ones that you have been using throughout are the only ones required.

Here is a brief rundown on what will take place regarding each team’s learning:

Foundation/Ones

Each day will begin with a 20-minute check in with a small group of students of up to 5 on Microsoft Teams. While this will begin with a short ‘Circle Time’ activity, the teacher will shift the focus to a Mathematics curriculum focus delivered in either English or Spanish (this will rotate throughout the week). The F/1 team will provide a Literacy Learning experience and Play-Based Learning Experience each day via SEESAW. The Specialist team will also create two brain breaks for students to complete throughout the day.

Students will receive Learning Experiences via SEESAW on their Specialist Day. The specialist teachers will be in charge of the morning checks in which will be focused solely on ‘Wellbeing’.

*Each teacher will make a Wellbeing phone call at some point during the week.
