Secondary News

Mr. Richard Hardy - Dean of Academic Administration

The Year 11 and 12 students are well into the first week of Block Examinations. The rest of the secondary school are in the midst of the end of term assessment too, so it is a busy time for all and we wish them all the best with their assessment.

The Ultimate Opus

Last Thursday evening we were fortunate to be able to host both our Primary and Secondary Opus events In the Assembly Hall. Following the postponement of our Opus 3 event at Brisbane Boys College and the restrictions that followed we were excited to be able to finally perform for everyone. In this new-look format, the audience was treated to a variety of outstanding performances by our string ensembles, string quartets, concert bands and choirs. Congratulations to all of the staff and students involved for their resilience, perseverance and hard work during these challenging times. It was wonderful to see so much support from our parents and friends at each event. A very big thank you to the Music Support Group who provided such a lovely function between the two concerts which enabled a lot of social interaction. A very enjoyable evening was had by all who attended.

We are now looking forward to preparing for the upcoming Speech Night and Primary Presentation events in Term 4.

Co-Curricular Photos

On Wednesday 15 September, we will be taking formal group photos of the 2021 co-curricular groups for music, sport and debating. These photos will be used in our 2021 Collegian, as well as being available for families to order online at the beginning of Term 4.

The group photos will be taken in the Assembly Hall, and any student involved in a photo session is expected to remain in the Tuckshop Courtyard until they are dismissed by the supervising staff.
