HOUSE CAPTAINS
BANKSIA
Shania
Hey everyone my name is Shania, I'm in 10B and I am one of the Banksia Red House Captains!
This role is so exciting and I am so grateful that I am the captain of such an enthusiastic, competitive and successful team. My job as the captain is to invest myself, encourage everyone to try their best and to listen to everyone's ideas as well as questions. And to try my best to give them the best answers possible.
This role is also giving me the opportunity to work on my public speaking and leadership skills.
I'm really excited about what's ahead for Banksia and to see the potential we have, I feel as if Covid didn't exist we would have so many more events
I could have helped organise so that we are able to participate and win.
Before lockdown there have been swimming carnivals and athletics days but now due to our current lockdown there has been a trivia day and that was a way to keep everyone busy and have a bit of fun.
But after lockdown I can't wait to help organise and participate in other events such as inter school sports, knowledge competitions and so much more.
But mainly I can't wait to see Banksia Win and continue to be on top!
Angus
Hello everyone my name is Angus, I’m in 10C and I am the Banksia Red House Captain.
This role means a great deal to me because I love to be part of the leadership roles because it helps me get to know the other members of our Great House. My job as house captain will be to hopefully inspire Banksia to get as many points as possible and wipe everyone from the competition. This role will help me become a better public speaker and improve my people skills. I love playing any sport that is handed to me and i love winning.
I’m very excited by what Banksia can achieve and what we can win when we come back from lockdown.
GO BANKSIA!!
BLUEGUM
Blue Gum let’s work together and be the best for ever, Let’s become the legendary team for Collingwood college for ever. Because Blue Gum always grows together.
Ali
Hi, my name is Ali. I am in 10A and the house captain of Blue Gum. And first thing I wanna say is let's not give all other houses a chance to talk about us or even get close to us even with numbers. I’ll say let's go higher and higher than all of the other houses and stay above but don’t forget that our aim is to have fun!
I’m so proud to be here and it’s fun to be in this activity and nothing can stop us from having fun even a covid 19.
I liked helping Aaron on year 7&8 try out until Mr.Covid 19 came and decided to mess with the season. I love soccer and helping others to play soccer and build a great team. It is a pleasure to lead the Blue Gum’s and also build my leadership skills.
Sophia
Hi, I am Sophia Twigg. I am in 10C and I am the Blue Gum house captain.
I believe being a leader means being able to listen, share and cooperate well with other people.
I am really excited about Collingwood college’s decision to create house captains. I think having house captains creates a community feeling and would enhance the competitive spirit at events like Athletics Day and the Swimming carnival. Having House Captains, builds connections and would allow the houses to work together while still competing.
I really like sports so I would love to help with some of the sport related activities that would be happening if it wasn’t because of COVID. I helped host the Trivia night alongside Alex and Angela.
I love the opportunity of being Blue Gum’s house captain. I am looking forward to the future and to help my house thrash all the other houses!

WATTLE
Hikima
Hello, I am Hikima, also known as Lina. I am in 10B representing the Yellow Wattle house as a captain.
I will dedicate myself to making sure all students feel the embrace of the spirit and have the opportunity to shape it.
I am so honoured to have this position and I feel like if we were not in Quarantine, I and my fellow house captain would have helped in preparing different events such as sports, swimming carnivals as well as participating alongside the students. Recently I have helped in assisting year 9 futsal with James.
However Covid19 shouldn't stop us, we have other competitions such as trivia and many more to come and I hope we work hard together at the same time as having fun and competing against each other.
Let’s take down the Blue gums!
