NUMICON

Kindergarten students (Early Stage 1) were using Numicon tiles to explore combinations to 10 and beyond and develop their understandings in addition and subtraction. They also recorded their work and did an amazing job of demonstrating what they were learning.

Numicon tiles are flat plastic shapes with holes in them. Each shape represents a number from 1-10 and each number has its own colour.

Recently  Stage 2  have been learning about the culture of Japan. With the Olympic Games being held in Tokyo, the students focused on Japanese art. This is where we learnt about silhouettes and pastiches ( which is copying famous art).
