Correct Use of Backpacks

It has come to our attention that students might be putting lots of extra pressure on their backs by carrying overloaded and heavy school bags to and from school.

The current COVID situation in Victoria has meant that snap lockdowns can be called with very short notice and in response to this some students may be trying to take all their books and belongings to and from school each day. It is important that students’ bags do not weigh in excess of 10 – 20% of their body weight.

In the event of a snap lockdown students do not have to take all their books and equipment home in one go. The office stays open so we can accommodate students picking books and equipment up on days after the lockdown has begun.
