KNOX DIVISION WINTER FINALS

We began the term with 3 of our school teams participating in the Knox Division Winter finals. In this event the top 2 teams from each of the 4 districts of Knox meet in competition for the Knox title and qualification to the Eastern Metro Regional Finals in August.  Our Girls Netball, Girls Teeball and Boys Australian Rules Football teams participated during the last week. Thank you to all the parents and friends who attended and supported our teams at the events.

Girls Netball

Congratulations to our Girls Netball Team who place 2nd overall in Knox following a 7 match round roubin at Knox Regional Netball Centre last Tuesday. The girls played amazingly well in an extremely tough competition to finish the day with  5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss. Though just missing out of regional qualification, the girls are extremley proud of their effort to carry on the strong Netball tradition at Lysterfield for another year. Well done to the girls and huge thanks to Miss Emonson for coaching the team.

Boys Australian Rules Football

Congratulations to our Boys Australian Rules Football team on an outstanding effort finishing runners up in the Knox Division Finals at Kings Park, Upper Ferntree Gully. The boys played exceptionally well moving through the pool games with some amazing teamwork as they were supported by Mr Mac as the head coach. Once reaching the final, it was a tough hard fought match, but in the end the team finished just short of the division victory.

Girls Teeball

An amazing day at Gilbert Park in Knoxfield where our girls played some outstanding

games of Teeball. The team played with great communication, tactical undertstanding and more importantly a sense of enjoyment with everything they did. They moved though the pool games in dominant efforts before playing an extremely enthralling Division final. After nearly 3 complete innings, the Division title came down to the last play, the final 3 metres of a dashing run by the opposition player and the quick thinking of our fielders to run them out. The team were crowned Knox Champions with an 19-18 win. Well done girls!

ROWVILLE DISTRICT BASKETBALL (SENIORS)

This event is occuring on Friday 21st July and will be reported on in our next edtion. Hope the teams had a great day on the court!
