Principal's message

Hail Mary, full of grace,

the Lord is with you.

 Blessed are you among women,

and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God

pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death,

 Amen.

Today is a special day – the feast of the Assumption – when we remember how at the end of her life Mary was taken up to heaven to be with God.

Mary is very special because she was chosen by God to be the mother of God's son, Jesus.

And Mary says yes to all that God asks of her.

Let us remember Mary our Mother who is in Heaven and who loves us very much.

Go Team!!!!!

National School Improvement Tool

Last Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we had three reviewers visit our school to  conduct our NSIT review.

In the preceding weeks the reviewers had access to much of our documentation  regarding Teaching and Learning in our school.

This combination of reviewing our documentation, interviewing our staff and working with our Review team was to enable us to

  • Focus on school improvement in teaching and learning and to assist us to review and reflect on our efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning
  • Describe the most impactful practices to improve student outcomes in learning and wellbeing - based on robust, empirical evidence
  • The approach was designed to identify our strengths and baseline practice for each of the Domains and priority areas of improvement

We are now awaiting the review report which  is designed to support us  in  the development of our new Strategic Plan and Master Plan.

This will be developed in consultation with our School Advisory Council, staff, children and parents.

Visiting Lecturers

Last week we were delighted to have John Richards  from The Academy of  Teaching and Leadership Excellence,  visit our school primarily to meet with Stacey Lamb, but to also view our school and see the work Stacey has been leading  through her fellowship.

John was most impressed with our school and our children.

We were privileged to have Anne Downton  Lecturer at Monash University and Matt Sexton Lecturer at Australian Catholic University visit us  on Friday in preparation for our professional learning day with them in term 4.

Anne and Matt are both leading lecturers in Mathematics education.  We look forward with great anticipation to their day of leading us in our learning on Monday 16th October, (pupil free day).

National  Action against Bullying Day

This Friday is National  Action against Bullying Day.

Our classes will be participating in a variety of learning experiences to learn more about bullying.

We encourage  our community to  wear a splash of either orange, purple or blue for the day (colours of National Day of Action) as an awareness raiser.

World Youth day

Teneisha Clarke from grade 5/6 has returned from World youth day and has enthusiastically shared her experiences.

An amazing faith filled adventure for Teneisha.
