Principal's Report

Celebrating NAPLAN Results 

We know that NAPLAN provides a snapshot of where the students are at in their Reading, Writing, Spelling, Grammar, and Numeracy and that we always look at these results in the context of other school-based data. NAPLAN data enables us to track our student’s learning at that time and long-term, from year to year.  This year the data can’t be compared to previous years as it is a new online test and there is a new scale.

We do not have all the reports yet, but I am excited to share some of the preliminary data which has been really positive. Our students have performed better than both similar schools and those in our network.

A huge congratulations to all the students for their efforts and their learning.  Thank you to the teachers and all staff who contribute in supporting the students with their academic, social and emotional learning. 

Thank you also to parents who ensure that their children get enough sleep, read daily, and attend school regularly because all of this helps.  As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child” and we should be very proud of our Deer Park ‘village’. Our combined effort is essential to ensure we continue to have success. Well done to everyone!!
