This Tuesday the 8th of August, the community of St Fidelis will have the opportunity to celebrate mass. Mass will begin at 9:15 am. We invite all parents, carers and grandparents to join our school community.
Last Wednesday our Year 5/6 children had the opportunity to meet and engage in learning with Bishop Terry Curtin. The purpose of this visit was for the bishop to meet the Confirmation candidates and to discuss various elements of Confirmation.
As people of faith, our Year 6 learners were given the time and opportunity to engage in a Retreat Day. The purpose of this day was for our learners to develop a deeper understanding of the importance of the Sacrament of Confirmation. As people of faith, we gathered in the chapel to reflect and engage in prayer. We began by asking Jesus to guide us, as we spend this day reflecting and understanding the importance of the Sacrament of Confirmation. How the gifts of the Holy Spirit play an important part in our daily lives and how these gifts have made us the special people that we are today.
The day continued with the children designing and mosaicing their crosses, followed by our shared hot lunch and finally writing letters to our sponsors.
This Sunday the 13th of August, our Year 6 Confirmation candidates will be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation at 3:00 pm at St Fidelis Church. A professional photographer has been booked for the day to capture this special event. Families wishing to take up this opportunity are asked to be in the hall between 1:30 pm-2:30 pm. NO family photos will be taken after 2:30 pm. A group photo will be taken at 2:30 pm. This will allow all our candidates to have a photo with the bishop. Individual photos of your child receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation will occur during the celebration. The children will process into the church once they have had their group photo. We ask that all families be seated in the church by 2:45 pm for the celebration to begin.
This term, our children will be celebrating mass at the following times:
