Health & Human Development

Simulator Babies

In Health and Human Development 1/2 class, we got given the opportunity to look after and care for a fake baby for 24 hours. The baby was really realistic and when it cried you had to work out whether it needed feeding, burping, changing of its nappy or rocking.

My baby's name was Agnes and she was also programmed to wake up in the middle of the night. If we did not support the baby's head at all times, or moved the baby too quickly, points were also taken off the final report. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and would love to do it again.

Global Health & Wellbeing

In Health and Human Development, we are learning about the difference in health and wellbeing for people in a global context while comparing low, middle and high-income countries. In Australia we are grateful to live in a country that allows us to receive high quality education and have access to resources that helps us to live healthy and enriched lives.

Our class has chosen to assist others that may be in need in other parts of Melbourne by donating essential items to St Kilda Mums group, such as wipes, toothpaste, baby clothes and other sanitary items. We hope these small contributions will help others experience better quality of life and health outcomes.
