Performing Arts Highlights!
Year Prep
The Argus and Xenica communities have been introduced to what drama is in Performing Arts, and how we use our imagination to role-play. Students have role-played a teddy bear’s picnic, and acted out toys we play with. We used costumes to assist us to use our imagination.
Year 1/2
The Achilles, Luna and Ulysses communities have been revising what Drama is in Performing Arts. Students have expressed different emotions, sharing their memories of these emotions and using their acting skills to improvise and perform scripted drama.
Year 3/4
The Icarus and Apollo communities have been working on their dance showcase presentation. Students have been developing an understanding of the technical and expressive skills when performing a dance such as being in unison with the other students, matching the timing of the music and looking out to the audience.
Year 5/6
The Monarch community have been working on their dance showcase presentation. Students have been developing an understanding of the technical and expressive skills when performing a dance. One dance technical skill students are learning is how to perform the dance technique of a canon which requires them to take turns to perform a movement. This movement is then identically copied and performed by others. They are also learning how to be in unison with other students when performing.
Aitken Hill Choir Crew!
The Year 3-6 students that have attended Choir have been developing their ability to sing the Australian Anthem proudly. We look forward to them performing in front of Assembly. Choir students have started to learn the song, ‘Dynamite’ by BTS. It is a fun and energetic song that they have expressed an interest in performing. Students will be able to audition for solo parts and help choreograph basic dance moves to add to the performance.
