Catholic Identity
If there is one word that we should never tire of repeating, it is this: dialogue. We are called to promote a culture of dialogue by every possible means and thus to rebuild the fabric of society.’

Season of Creation ~ Prayers of Praise
As we prepare for the Season of Creation commencing on September 1st in the Church's calendar, we have been prayer journalling in our outdoor environments at school, including our veggie garden. We have been using our five senses to focus on the wonder & awe of creation. We have also been learning about & creating prayers of praise.
Mary MacKillop's Feast Day ~ August 8th
We remembered and acknowledged the feast day of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop, Australia’s first Saint on August 8th, her feast day. We acknowledge the wonderful work of St Mary MacKillop and all the sisters of St Joseph, may they be role models of compassion, resilience & hope to us all. Our 3/4 unit led us in prayer at our assembly.
Feast of the Assumption ~ August 15th
The 15th of August is the Feast of the Assumption. We will celebrate this Marian Feast in prayer across the school. We think about Mary, the mother of Jesus, in a special way. Her life was one of service and devotion to God, to her Son Jesus, to her family and to her community. Mary is an example to each one of us here of faith, generosity and love.
There will be no Mass at St. Mel's with Fr Peter away and electrical works being completed.

WORLD YOUTH DAY ~ Our pilgrims from across Sandhurst leave this week for W.Y.D. We here at St. Mel’s have ZOE HAMILTON in our minds and hearts as she takes us with her on this journey of faith and life. May this experience inflame Zoe with love and goodness and all she is open to receiving. God bless Zoe and her travels. Zoe is a past student of St. Mel's Primary School.
