St Anthony's Christmas Appeal
Sr Myree Harris, a Josephite nun who works with the mentally ill in Sydney has once again asked if we wish to be part of the 2023 Christmas appeal for the men and women who live in the various boarding houses around Sydney. St Anthony’s community has supported Sr Myree for many years and she is always very appreciative of our support.
The Gethsemane Community has for many years organised a Christmas project to try to make Christmas happier for some forgotten, lonely and isolated people in Sydney. Last year they were able to reach many men and women at Christmas time and provided them with personal gifts at this time. This is very special to these people as often they have no family or anyone to look after them.
We have been asked to collect toiletries to assist Sr Myree Harris with this appeal. These will be included in a pack which will be given to the residents at this time. This will make a huge difference to them on Christmas Day. It is a very simple way of making someone happy on Christmas Day.
Students can begin bringing their donations to school from Monday 7th August - the final date for donations is Friday 12th September. (Each classroom will have a basket for students to put the donations in)
The list below has what your child’s class is asked to bring in.
Class Donations
Kinder: Shampoo
Year 1: Conditioner
Year 2: Men’s Razors (not yellow BIC)
Year 3: Toothpaste/ toothbrush (soft)
Year 4: Deodorant for men and/or women (4 Yellow and 4 Blue)
Year 5: Wrapped cakes of soap
Year 6: Shaving Cream
If you would like to donate any other toiletries that you may have at home, they will be greatly appreciated.

Sacrament of Reconciliation - Year 2 - Parent Information Evening is on Tuesday 24th October at 6.15pm in the School Library.
