Stories from the Library

 THE NEW CHAPTER BEGINS

During library lessons we have continued to enjoy reading and voting on the many amazing books shortlisted for the CBCA Book of the Year 2023. Our students have also continued to be keen borrowers of the many new books arriving each week. During our Book Week Parade on Tuesday the 22nd August we will award students who have worked hard to achieve their reading goals.  All Premier’s Reading Challenge forms are now due.

Our Inklings extension students have been working on descriptive writing and poetry.

The poem below by Davi in Grade 5/6  beautifully expresses the importance of reading.

Adventure Suitcase

Books look like a suitcase of your favourite adventures,

that you can take with you wherever you go.

Books smell like the imaginary places that they show me,

they sound like magic to my ears.

Books feel like the most beautiful thing in the world,

They let me taste the magical food in the books I read.

Books make me feel unique in the world,

because I feel like I have visited the places books take me,

and I know that no one can ever take that from me.
