This term in 3/4 Myrtle we have started a HaSS unit about Australian History. We have focused on investigating what life was like for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people before the arrival of the Europeans. We have focused on Indigenous food, tools, shelter, clothing and art. In small groups, we attempted a design challenge to use a range of natural materials to construct a mini shelter similar to the shelters the traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people built for protection and survival. 

We could only use sticks, bark, grasses and leaves to construct our shelters.
