Principal's Message

Dear Families
Term 3 has started in a positive fashion. We have had the regular learning routines commence again as well as ancillary programs such as gymnastics and Friday Netball.
We have several theatre companies visiting us later this term, including NZ Playhouse and Bell Shakespeare. We also have or 5/6 students seeing the Guildford Young Musical and our 3/4 students seeing the MacKillop Musical.
Lady Gowrie have made a strong start as our Before and After School Care provider. Lady Gowrie collects students from Kindergarten, Prep and Grade One directly from their classrooms. One can’t forget the early success of our School Lunch program. Little Dove Café is a hum of activity every day, as we cook nutritious and delicious food for our student cohort. Andrea and Bridget are doing a sensational job and students are into positive routines. Some recipes have been a huge hit (the Vegetable Curry in particular!), others have been new experiences for students. We will be surveying students to get a sense of what is working. Of course we need to balance preference with nutrition. Weeks 4-6 were sent out on Compass on Monday. A huge thank you to parents embracing the program with such enthusiasm.
Kinder enrolments for 2025 are now open and we are filling up! It might be an opportune time to remind any families or friends that are interested. We have very strong interest, so it is likely we will have large numbers as per the demand this year. Don’t forget to save the date for our school concert. On 19 October we will be celebrating the John Paul II feast day and having a school concert that day, with two sittings.
