As usual, this time of the year sees us farewelling staff. I would like to say thank you and all the very best to the following staff members who are leaving us today:

Volunteers Morning Tea

Last week we invited our volunteers to attend a morning tea put on by staff. This gave us an opportunity to formally acknowledge and thank the parents and friends that give up their time to support our students.

This year, for the first time, our Department has provided all schools with a plaque to acknowledge the Volunteer of the Year. Our staff nominated the person that they believe was worthy of this award. There were many names put forward but the inaugural winner was Joan Evers.

Joan has volunteered at Largs Bay for many years and is highly regarded and respected by staff and students alike.

Joan is pictured below receiving her award with Leanne White (LAP Co-ordinator)

Year 7 Graduation

This year we had 51 Year 7’s graduate. Their graduation consisted of a cruise and dinner on the West Lakes Princess (West Lakes), followed by a formal ceremony back in the school hall. Special thanks to the Year 7 teachers (Simon Bowden, Jess Knycz, Sharon Todd & De-anne Summers) as well as all the other staff at Largs Bay who have contributed to the student’s education over the years. On behalf of all involved at the school, I would like to wish them all the very best for the future.

Congratulations to our 2015 Year 7’s

ATSI Graduation

Our Partnership recently acknowledged all Aboriginal students who were graduating either from Kindy, Primary School or High School. Largs Bay had 4 ATSI students who will be going on to High School in 2016. They are pictured below.

OSHC Vacation Care

Once again, our OSHC service has a fantastic program these holidays. There are still some spaces left, so get in soon and secure your spot!!! A reminder that the Child Health and Medical Condition forms are due back to OSHC this week. Forms for each child must be returned even if there are no known medical conditions. If the information/medication is not received by OSHC your child will not be able to attend the service. Thank you for your support.

Enjoy the Break!!

A reminder that children will return to school on Monday 1st February. The front office staff will be in from Monday 25th January and the uniform shop will be open on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th January from 9:00am to 12pm.  In the meantime, I would like to wish you all a wonderful break with your children and families and we look forward to seeing you all fit and healthy in 2016.

All the best Mike
