Barwon and Bellarine Division Swimming Carnival

The combined Geelong Secondary Schools Swimming Carnival was held on Friday, 28 February, in ideal conditions that allowed swimmers to perform at their best. Our small team are to be commended for taking the opportunity to represent North Geelong Secondary College.

The team consisted of:

  • Georgina Slavkoska - Year 9
  • Emily Foot - Year 8
  • Thomas Airey and Ava McMahon Jones  - Year 7.

Thomas was our standout swimmer with a second in the 12/13 Boys Backstroke and he also achieved a couple of PBs.

Emily competed with a positive attitude and also achieved a PB. She showed definite improvement from the 2019 event.

Georgina and Ava both showed determination to do their best in their events.

Thanks also to the parents who were able to come and support the team.

Rubicon Camps

During the last two weeks, the EIS Football/Soccer Programs have attended Rubicon Outdoor Education Centre Campuses in Thornton and Nayook. Students completed a number of teamwork, intiative and leadership activities, focusing on progressing their communication and applied teamwork strategies for EIS sports. The EIS team would like to further thank the Rubicon Outdoor Education Centre for their continued support of the EIS program.

EIS Football

The football program has been extremely busy over the past two weeks. We have begun two separate programs; The Kick 2 Advantage program with David Newett and the AFL Umpires Courses, in conjunction with AFL Barwon and AFL umpire David Harris. Students are upskilling their kicking skills, competitive game simulation abilities and are undertaking the fundamental umpiring skills course with David Harris. EIS Football students will continue these two courses for the next three weeks. The EIS program team would like to acknowledge the support of our partners, AFL Barwon and K2A and thank them for their on-going support of the EIS program.

Reminder

The Excellence in Sport Program would like to remind parents and guardians that all NGSC students who have a recognised allergy or asthma, must provide the College with the appropriate action plans. If there are any questions or concerns with this process, please contact the College's First Aid Officer, Michelle Reed.

EIS Uniform

The EIS uniform shop has once again been closed for ordering at this stage. Any students who have not yet ordered or received their uniform will need to contact Mr Vassallo to discuss the EIS uniform. Parents and carers please be aware that the EIS must be worn to all EIS training sessions, incursions and excursions.
