LHS INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT

The latest pictures and video from the SRC Worlds Greatest Shave performances by Instrumental students have been uploaded to the LHS Instrumental Music Instagram account.

Students, staff and parents/guardians can now follow photos/videos of music events, rehearsals, and performances by searching: @LHS_InstrumentalMusic and clicking the 'follow' button in the app on their device.

BANDS/ENSEMBLES

Rookie Band First Rehearsal – Term 2

All Year 7 Brass, Woodwind and Percussion students will be involved in their first rehearsal for the LHS Rookie Band during the second week of Term 2.

Year 7 students will be involved in their first rehearsal during a double period (period allocation TBA – approved absence from class has been arranged) in which they will learn about the basic band setup, how to arrange their instrument group in an orchestra and how to follow their directors.

The LHS Rookie Band will be rehearsing every Wednesday in the PAC Band Room from Term 2 onwards. Students will be reminded to check Compass and the PAC hallway band/ensemble notice board for further information.

Ms Kate McAlister and Ms Bonnie Poduska will be directing the Rookie Band. If you have any questions regarding the band and their rehearsal requirements, please contact the Rookie Band directors via Compass or by calling the school (on a Wednesday preferably) on 9735 5644.

We encourage all students in Year 7 bands/ensembles to attend their regular lessons and band/ensemble rehearsals with their instrument and music ready to play.

Worlds Greatest Shave Performances

Well done to the LHS SRC on their fundraising efforts at their Worlds Greatest Shave event last Friday, 13 March.

We would like to thank Ms Catherine Zavrou and the SRC students for giving our Instrumental Music students the opportunity to perform during their event.
