VCE ADVICE

Parents and Students

Students are encouraged to consider their goals and strategies for VCE.  Students should reflect on their current study practices and schedule specific blocks of study time to complete set homework.

At VCE it is recommended that students complete a minimum 30 minutes of additional study per subject per day (minimum 2.5 hours for students studying 5 subjects, 3 hours for students studying 6 subjects).  For students who wish to undertake part-time work while completing the VCE, we recommend no more than 12 hours per week.

Students who have not yet done so should organise their home study space to maximise their focus and concentration. Students may seek help from any of the VCE Coordinators if they need assistance creating a study timetable or help with any study strategies.

SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

Year 11 and 12 students will have a range of Holiday Homework tasks to complete in all of their subject areas.

Year 12 students, in particular, are encouraged to create a study timetable, scheduling in all of the tasks they have been allocated by their teachers. This will help students to ensure they are getting all school related tasks completed, but also scheduling time for part time work and leisure activities.

We hope all VCE students, and their families, have a relaxing and safe break.
