GREAT VICTORIAN BIKE RIDE
GREAT VICTORIAN BIKE RIDE
Are you ready for a unique opportunity? Are you up for the challenge of cycling 540km over 9 days through some of the most beautiful scenery Victoria has to offer? Then the Great Vic Bike Ride is for you.
Starting on Saturday 28 November concluding on Saturday 6 December, the Great Vic will start at Ballarat and finish at Bendigo taking in the Goldfields of Central Victoria.
The ride is open to students in Years 9 to 11. It is also open to students in Year 7 and 8 who are able to ride with a supervising adult.
There are a number of key benefits that students will take out of this adventure. These include practical bicycle maintenance skills, better physical fitness, heightened spatial awareness skills from riding and communicating in groups, improved self-confidence, resilience and personal development.
The cost of the trip for students will be approximately $750. It is envisaged that students will undertake some fundraising to reduce the cost. This amount covers all meals and camping.
If students wish to learn more, there will be a meeting at lunchtime on Monday 24 March.
You can also go to the Bicycle Victoria website for exact details of the route and other information.
