OSHClub Newsletter #1 Term 4 2017

Program update:

  • Welcome back to term 4! I hope you had a restful break.
  • During term 4, OSHclub’s policy is hats and sunscreen must be worn when outside. Please pack sunscreen for your child if they are sensitive to ‘Coles Brand Sunscreen’.
  • We recently bought new resources for the children to use at OSHClub. This included new sports equipment, board games, cushions, arts and craft supplies and pencils/textas.
  • Nilushi and Andrew have observed the children’s listening skills have improved in term 4. During our afternoon roll call the children have been setting a great example to each other by listening intently and showing fantastic manners.

Blackberry and muesli breakfast muffins:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted and roughly chopped
  • 2 tbsp each of  sesame seeds/pumpkin seeds
  • 1 cup blackberries or other seasonal fruit (chopped)
  • 1 cup (250ml) buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) light olive oil
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 1/4 (190g) cups plain wholemeal flour
  • 1/2 cup (80g) brown sugar

method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C conventional (160°C fan-forced) and line a 12 cup muffin pan with paper cases.
  2. Whisk the eggs, buttermilk and oil together.
  3. In a seperate bowl, combine all remaining ingredients. Tip the wet ingredient into this bowl.
  4. Mix until just combined and then spoon into paper cases.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes or until muffins are golden on top.
