Year 8

On 16th May,

St Bede’s College celebrated Founder’s Day. This day was to celebrate the life of our founder, St. John Baptist De La Salle.  The school arranged many rides and activities for the students to enjoy.  The day was also a follow-on from our Mission Action Day and acknowledged the money that the students had raised for the Lasallian Missions abroad. Many activities were overseen by the leaders of the College and the school grounds were filled with students wanting to join in on the wide range of fun activities available. Rides filled the front oval, sporting competitions took place in and around the hall, a comedy show was held, food was arranged and many more attractions occurred all over the school giving students multiple choices of how to be entertained. The day was great, finishing with excited students making their way home talking about the fun that they had experienced throughout the day. In all, the day was not only one that was filled with enjoyment, but it was also a day that successfully celebrated the life of St. John Baptist De Salle.

Year 8 camp to Phillip Island for my class 8.8 was an amazing experience for all of us. We had a lot of activities to keep us entertained for the whole 4 days. Compared to Year 7 camp, the Year 8 camp was a whole new experience. We did surfing, hiking, bike riding, movie night, we went to the Phillip Island Adventure Park and even experienced under water hockey at Wonthaggi pool. The teachers Mr Strom, Mr Brown and our home room teacher, Mr Freeman gave us our own free time playing table tennis, going for walks, talking in our cabins or even just playing ball games in the courtyard. You can't compare each activity because they were all fun, exciting and some of them new.  It was a great camp.
