Christmas toy drives

FN Carey (Lara, Vic) and FN Melton (Vic) each participated in very successful toy drives during the run up to last Christmas.

We congratulate both offices, as well as any others we might not be aware of, who participated in such worthy community causes.

50 years supporting Lions

In December, the Werribee Lions Club celebrated Bob Westwood’s (FN Westwood, Werribee) 50 years’ of membership.

Bob joined the Werribee Lions Club in September 1972 and became actively involved in community work within the City of Wyndham. Since then, more than $1,000,000 has been distributed to charities, welfare and community groups.

Well done, Bob.

FN New Zealand donates another $25,000 to burns centre

In December, FN New Zealand’s Board donated another $25,000 to the New Zealand Burns Service, taking its total donations to nearly $275,000 over the past 10 years.

‘Fire can rob you of much more than your home,’ said First National Real Estate chairman, Joe Mullins

‘It doesn't just cause devastating injuries to your skin. There are long-term impacts on self-esteem, trauma that affects individuals and families, and far-reaching impacts for our communities.’

‘Our sponsorship of New Zealand's National Burn Service, underpins the seamless delivery of the country’s burn care services at Middlemore Hospital (Auckland), Waikato Hospital (Hamilton), Hutt Hospital (Wellington) and Christchurch Hospital.

‘Plus, our annual fundraising auctions and provision of First National Real Estate Home Safe Kits help Kiwis respond to home emergencies more effectively, thereby making their homes safer.’

Kids Helpline longest lunch

FN Rayner (Bacchus Marsh, Vic) is hosting a Longest Lunch on 24 March at St Anne’s Winery in Myrniong.

What a great idea. Well done, team.

Gift cards for domestic violence sufferers

FN David Haggarty (Maitland, NSW) donated $1,200 worth of gift cards given by the Maitland community to Carrie’s Place Domestic Violence and Homelessness Services, just before Christmas.

The agency added another $1,000 worth of cards out of its own pocket, thereby making for a much brighter Christmas for affected women.

Donation to Waikerie’s Men’s Shed

FN Marschall (Waikerie, SA) co-principal, Shawn Nitschke, donated $250 to Waikerie Men’s Shed as part of its ‘100 years of locals supporting locals’ campaign.

Shawn says it was great to be able to give something back to them in thanks for everything they do in our community.
