SLEEP: THE IMPORTANCE OF SLEEP AND STRATEGIES TO HELP TEENS

Whenever students are in the middle of exams with holidays approaching, stress and disruption to routine can greatly impact our student's sleep. The end of the year can be an exciting but also stressful and busy time. It is then followed by a long rest period where routine and consistency can quickly fade.

Sleep is one pivotal factor that can support our student's mental health, emotional regulation and development. By supporting teenagers to manage the pressures of technology/social media and create healthy sleep habits, we can help build a strong foundation for student wellbeing and academic ability – strategies that are not only helpful now, but all year round.

As the factors impacting teenagers' sleep are more complex than ever, I hope the below article is helpful for all in our community. It explains the importance of sleep, how much sleep teenagers need, and strategies to help teenagers establish a healthy sleep routine.
