Last Weekend Activities

Friday night all students headed to Eaton Fair where the Christmas Carnival was being held, so students and staff were treated to some amazing fireworks.

On Saturday morning we were off to Bunbury.  We were going to watch a movie but discovered it was nearly 3 hours long, so a decision was made to go shopping, play a game of Ten Pin Bowling and play some games at time zone.  Afterwards we had a BBQ lunch at Marlston Waterfront, before stopping into Taffy’s for some samples of the chocolates.

Back at the College in the afternoon, everyone got involved in the preparation and sowing of new herbs in the raised garden bed at the rear of the gym for the Chef.

Then to the bus for an evening at Gravity in Dalyellup to enjoy a couple of hours of physical activities. I am told that by the end of it all there were some very tired players.

On Sunday, students assisted in preparing for the arrival of the new Transition students and their families. Everyone assisted in placing the names on the dorm doors, setting out the carpet and chairs in the gym, as well as then packing it all away.

The same students then showed all the new students to their accommodation whilst pointing out some of the important areas that they needed to know. Dressed in our sports uniform, these students were very helpful, excited and informative. Great job everyone and thank you very much.

Quiz Night

Sunday evening, we ran a quiz night which was a suggestion from the current Year 10 student body.  A special thanks must go to Zoey Morris who organised the questions with assistance from the teaching staff.  Thanks also to Madison Byrnes-Peters and Millah Gray for their help and assistance in the evening, Heidi for sorting some great prizes and our Quiz Master Extraordinaire Mr John White, who once again took charge. Students were entertained and participated in good spirits.

During the week

Monday night, after a big day of exciting new things at the College for our Transition students, staff organised sporting activities and board games for everyone. These included dodge ball, volleyball and cricket, as well as some great board and card games in the dining room. Once again, we had great participation from most students.

Tuesday evening saw our Transition students depart which left us with only the Year 10 boarding students.  It was quite a change from the large number of over one hundred at breakfast, down to mid-thirties at dinner.

On Wednesday evening all  Year 10 Boarders went out for their last meal at Crooked Carrot in Myalup, before finishing up for the year. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal, in a fantastic setting. Thank you to the students who were once again very well behaved and very sociable for the evening.

Residential staff would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable break and a happy new year.  We look forward to seeing all our current students and their families back for 2023 and we look forward to getting to know our new students and their families.
