Christmas and New Year is a difficult time of year for many people and families. The added stress and financial commitments can mean people experience difficult situations in their personal lives. There are community supports to help you.

Early Help Family Service

Early Help Family Service (EHFS) is an early intervention program that provides tailored support to families, meeting their individual needs.

 

It was established to:

  • Support families to be resilient and have safe, supportive, and enduring relationships.
  • Assist families to be more connected to and engaged in their culture and communities.
  • Support families to access specialist services and participate in education, training, and other wellbeing activities.
  • Assist families to navigate the health system, increase social connection and build parental confidence.

Pakenham Secondary College can refer families to the Early Help Family Service.

COOK4CALD

COOK4CALD is a youth based, not for profit organisation. They provide the CALD community with culturally diverse meals, chosen to make all recipients feel at home. All of their meals have been nutritionally analysed by young Dietitian’s, Vanessa Morando and Christine Nikolopoulos, as well as Nutritionist, Tin Truong. Each meal is designed to be delicious, nutritious and adaptable to dietary requirements.

 

All of their meals are Halal and they always provide a weekly vegan alternative to ensure accessibility for all!
