St Vinnie's Christmas Appeal

This year, St Joseph's School will be joining with the Parishioners of St Brigid's to collect money to be passed on to those most in need.  Each family is invited to put a donation in the collection envelope that will be sent home with students this week.

Kindly return your donation envelope to school before the end of the term.

Thank you.

Fourth Sunday of Advent (Year A)

The readings for the 4th Sunday of Advent Year A challenge

us to look beyond our own understanding and have faith.

The first reading foretells that a virgin will give birth. The psalm praises the wonders of God. The second reading speaks of the promises of God through the ages and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the gospel we hear how an angel appeared to Joseph and he did as the angel told him.

A Christmas Tree Blessing

Dear God,

You sent Jesus into this world to show us how much you love us.

As we look at this tree, we we think about Jesus’s birth and the eternal life he give us.

Bless this tree and help it to serve as a reminder of your Son’s birth.

May the gifts we place under this tree remind us of the many gifts you have given us.

We ask you to bless this home and watch over us during this holy season.

Amen.

A Note of Thanks and God's Blessing

As this will be my last newsletter for St Joseph's Primary School, I would like to take the opportunity to thank each of you for your love, support and friendship over the past 10 years.  Our family took a leap of faith and moved to the country with our 2 young daughters in 2012 and could not be happier with that decision.  Now it is time to try a new adventure in Tasmania!  We are looking forward to spending time with family and making new memories in our new home.

Wishing you and your family a happy, holy and special Christmas time together.

May God bless you always,
