Centenary Carnival

Wow….what an incredible day! Mother Nature sent us sunshine with just a sprinkle of rain to celebrate our Centenary Carnival.
This day was a long time coming, with the biennial fete abandoned in 2020. And it didn't disappoint, with hundreds of people from the school and surrounding areas coming to enjoy the food, rides, and atmosphere, helping to raise vital funds for our school.
The crowds were treated to performances by The Ripoffs, Motown Review, Little Murders, the Teachers' band, the brilliant students in the talent show, band and choir. Thank you all for bringing such a joyful feast of performances to the day.
From the generous donations towards the silent auction, raffle, market stalls, sideshow alley prizes, the bar, food, snacks and more, we raised more funds than we could have wished for. Current estimates of funds raised are looking very promising! A final figure will be released soon!
To those who donated goods - from clothes to books to homemade baked goods, to vouchers and valuables, to marquees and bottles of wine and jars filled with goodies – thank you.
To the incredible team of parents, teachers, staff, extended families and alumni who volunteered their time to set up, pack down, host, DJ, run stalls and activities, paint faces, cook and serve food and drinks, sell tickets, count coins and wrangle children - thank you. It was because of your enthusiastic support that the carnival was a success.
Our thanks go to the school families and local businesses who provided fences for billboards, helped us with printing, or who let us borrow/gave us goods and services for our event.
Thank you to Jac and Kate in the school office for your efficiency and support and to the staff of Ripponlea PS who volunteered their time before and during the carnival.
As a committee, we are honoured to have served our wonderful community. For many months, we have been planning and sketching out this event. Seeing it come to life was very special indeed. We most importantly thank the kids of Ripponlea for bringing their fun vibes and happiness to the Carnival. Giving them a day to remember was our number one priority.
Until 2024,
The Centenary Carnival Committee.
