Principal's Message

Good afternoon Parents & Carers,

It is hard to believe we have reached the end of another year and the holy season of Christmas now approaches us. We would like  to express our heartfelt gratitude to our community for what has once again been an incredibly successful year for the community at St Philomena's. Thank you to the School Advisory Council and the P&F for their continued support.

Our learners are what makes our school special. Our learners have been excellent ambassadors in the community, whether on trips, community events or learning excursions. They represented the school with pride and dignity. We acknowledge you all, and all that you have achieved this year through effort, persistence and determination. We congratulate our Graduating Year 6 and 10 students. Our best wishes to those students and families leaving us, every blessing in your new chapter.

Sadly, to leave us this year are also some wonderful Leaders of Learning and staff members - some here for just a short while, while others have been part of our community for a long time. Thank you to Lauren Smart and Nicole Huang who have been active staff members for the last year. To Anne Johnston, Leader of Learning Secondary and Danielle Heffer, IT Support who have given greatly of themselves to the betterment of our school, a huge thank you.

Lastly, but certainly not least, a huge acknowledgment and thank you to Jennifer Devney and Mary Davison for their longstanding, virtuous service to our school. We would like to publicly thank them as they have played an integral part in most of the students' lives.

As the curtain to 2022 draws to a close, we can look forward to 2023 with hope and confidence where we will continue to work together integrating wellbeing, learning and spirituality in innovative ways so that each child continues to be safe, valued, respected and cared for at St Philomena’s.

Faith makes all things possible, hope makes all things work, love makes all things beautiful, may you have all three this Christmas.

God bless
