Last STEAM newsletter for 2022

This being the last STEAM newsletter, I just wanted to say a very big thank you for letting me teach your wonderful children this year. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know all of their personalities and learning about their different talents. Each and every child at St Joseph's has shown me that they are shining stars and have wonderful gifts that they will bring to our world.

During our last few weeks together in the STEAM room, we have had a great time! Please take a look at some of these final 2022 photos from our class experiments.

Prep: Exploring which balls bounced the highest; smaller or larger balls? Great work Preps!

Year 1/2: Testing the buoyancy of aluminum boats and how many marbles each boat could carry before sinking. Well done to Zac for receiving the STEAM student of the week award for his efforts in this activity!

Year 3/4: Comparing the best insulators through temperature loss. Please get your children to tell you about the results.

Year 5/6: Making lemon batteries. Wow, that was fun! Well done to team Tarrin, Makayla, and Scarlette for making a LED light shine using 6 lemons!

You would have now received your STEAM reports so please don’t hesitate to be in contact with me if you have any questions.

It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye to the STEAM room but I am delighted to begin teaching the wonderful 1/2 class next year with the amazing Mr. Foley.

All the very best and have a safe and happy Christmas!
