Mrs Denise Hayward
As the final days for this term draw to a close, we reflect on what a year it has been. Starting the year with COVID still very much a part of the community it has been wonderful as the year has progressed to open the school and welcome the community in to share in the many wonderful Junior School experiences. I would like to acknowledge the efforts made by so very many of our students, staff, and parents in the Kinross Wolaroi community during the course of this year. The extraordinary commitment made by all our staff, academic and support staff alike, means that we can continue to succeed and flourish as a learning community.
Community engagement is a critical factor for improving the progress, achievement, and wellbeing of our students. It is essential to ensure the greatest impact on every student’s progress, achievement, and wellbeing. I would like to thank our community for your participation in recent surveys and community consultation which have provided valuable feedback for the development of our future plans.
I would like to express my gratitude to all for your generous support. I have enjoyed meeting many parents throughout the year at various events and working with you as we provide the best possible learning outcomes for your child. Our students have developed their resilience and determination to be active learners who are safe and respectful at Kinross Wolaroi School. Our students have experienced exceptional learning opportunities provided by quality, passionate educators throughout 2022.
I am delighted to report that our Junior School staff continues to grow in strength, which ensures great stability. I wish our staff leavers, Toby Paul and Georgie Cuming every success in the future and sincerely thank them for their contribution to our school and students. We wish Mark Pritchard a relaxing year as he undertakes 12 months of leave. I would like to thank each of these staff members for their dedication to the education journey of all our students while they have worked at Kinross Wolaroi School. We wish them success in their respective next steps in their professional or personal journey.
In 2023 we will welcome Mrs Libby Chapman and Ms Annie Dawson to the classroom. Mrs Brooke Church will be taking on the role of Co-ordinator of Learning Enhancement. She will be a welcome contact for many families where students are involved in additional learning programs.
Finally, I wish all our Kinross Wolaroi families all the very best for the summer break and look forward to welcoming you all back, relaxed and refreshed for what promises to be an enjoyable and productive year.
