From the Head of Senior School

Mr Trent Chapman

The last two weeks of term have been a whirlwind of activity in the Senior School. The post-exam period has provided opportunities for our various faculties to engage in a wide range of exciting project-based learning activities.

TAS & Visual Arts Showcase

Thursday 1 December saw the inaugural combined showcase of practical works for students in Years 7 – 12 studying Mandatory Technology, Industrial Technology, Visual Arts, Textiles Technology and Agriculture. It was wonderful to see so many students proudly sharing their design and practical skills with the school community, and the evening culminated in an outstanding fashion show. The event was well-attended by students and families, and we look forward to seeing this celebration of student talent and achievement develop further in the years to come.

Flood recovery in Molong and Eugowra

In recent weeks groups of volunteers have travelled to Molong and Eugowra to assist with flood recovery. Activities have included clearing out small businesses, mending fences and assisting residents with furniture cleaning. I would like to acknowledge and thank Mr Will Waterson and Mr Nathan Short for liaising with community contacts and providing our students with the opportunity to provide much needed community service.

Camps Week

Year 7 – 12 Cadet camp, Year 9 – 12 Duke of Edinburgh Explorations, Year 9 Masterclasses, Year 10 Leadership & Life Skills, and Year 12 HSC Boot Camp.

Camps Week has been hectic and our students have been incredible participants in all activities. My sincere thanks to the Camps Week Co-ordinators and the entire Senior School staff for planning and executing such a successful and valuable camps week to conclude the academic year.
