The last couple of weeks have been relatively quiet on the sports front as Year 3-6 have been away on camps. During this time the U13 cricketers have continued their good run of form. Special mention to Tom Hughes who registered a half century in the recent win over Orange City. The most recent win leaves the boys sitting in 3rd spot on the ladder having won 4 and lost 1. Thank you to Tom Rourke who stepped in last minute to make up the numbers after camp week took its toll on the Year 6’s.
Our U11 cricketers have also enjoyed plenty of success and it is great to see the next generation coming through. Mr Barrett, our guest cricket coach and ex midwestern zone representative cricketer commented on how well the U11 white are striking the ball. Special mention to Jarvis Byrne in the U11 Blue team who came within centimeters of picking up a hat-trick on Thursday evening.
A sport like cricket relies on support from parents in scoring, umpiring, and of course taxiing children to and from games. A huge thank you to all parents who have volunteered on the score book or standing long hours in the field umpiring, your support is greatly appreciated.
Over the past two weeks the Kindergarten to Year 2 classes have enjoyed our intensive swimming program. Taking part in sessions every day to develop their water confidence, stroke technique and learn all about water safety.
Many thanks to Brooke, Brandon, Deb and Miss Collett for providing the children with this fantastic opportunity.
There are still a number of families yet to fill in the winter sport form. Please check the letter on the hub and fill in the link with your child’s winter sport preference.
