Best Gift for Mum???

Chocolates? Jewellery? Flowers? All wonderful and thoughtful gifts…my daughter sent me this funny post:

‘Wow my mum is so blessed to have a child as funny as me.’

After a tiny chuckle, it got me thinking – as mums, we love nothing more than to see our children thriving – growing up to be kind, caring, decent (and funny!) adults.

One mum told me (with tears in her eyes), of how her twenty-one-year old son gifted her with a cup of tea and an uninterrupted chat at home on Sunday afternoon. Another mum showed me a precious handwritten letter from a daughter, full of thanks and praise for her years of hard work and sacrifice. I heard from other mums who had lost their own mothers years ago and still feel the grief and loss but continue to reflect and pass on the values their mums gave them.

Whilst celebrating our wonderful ladies over scones last week at our Mother's Day Morning Tea, it was great to see our children serving and looking after our special guests. Surely this is the best gift for mum – having children that care, show appreciation and respect. As a school, it is great to work together with our fabulous mums to help our children thrive.

A big thank you to everyone involved with our celebrations last week – let’s all show our mums we care by giving our best!

Regards Tam
