Heritage Months @ TDSB
March is Greek Heritage Month
The TDSB will be celebrating Greek Heritage during the month of March. This year’s theme is: “Hellenic Kallos – Inspiring the Mind, Body & Soul”. On Saturday, March 3rd from 1pm to 3pm will be the Opening Event at the Greek Community of Toronto. On Saturday, March 24th from 3pm to 5:30pm will be the Closing Event at East York CI. These events will feature music, dance, art, food, demonstrations, cultural displays and special presentations from TDSB elementary and secondary students and community members. We look forward to seeing you there!

April is Sikh Heritage Month at the TDSB - Video Competition
The Toronto District School Board recognizes Sikh Heritage Month during the month of April and and this year’s theme is “Seva: Selfless Service”.
On 22 March 2016, Trustees voted to designate April of each year as Sikh Heritage Month, making TDSB the first school board in Canada to do so, and matching recognition by the Province of Ontario in 2013.
During the month of April, the Toronto District School Board will provide the students and staff with several educational opportunities to learn more about Sikh traditions and histories, and celebrate the many contributions of Sikh Canadians.
As part of our celebrations, the TDSB will be launching the Sikh Heritage Video Competition. Deadline is Friday, March 23, 2018. Please see the attached document for full details.

May is Asian Heritage Month at the TDSB – Poster Competition
The Toronto District School Board recognizes Asian Heritage Month during the month of May and this year’s theme is “Let us surprise you. Learn who we are.”
During the month of May 2018, the TDSB will be holding a variety of events to celebrate the rich heritage of Asia’s diverse nations. As part of our celebrations, the Asian Heritage Planning Committee will be having a Poster Competition.

April is Latin-America History Month at the TDSB – Art Competition
The Toronto District School Board recognizes Latin-America History Month during the month of April and this year’s theme is “Recognizing our Diverse Spiritualties Through Our Stories: Learn About Our Many Roots.”
April is Latin-America History Month 2018, an opportunity to acknowledge, recognize, centre and celebrate the multiple identities, knowledges, spiritualities, cultures, and contributions of people from Latin-America/Abya Yala and its Diaspora in what is dominantly known today as Canada. As part of our celebrations, the Latin-America History Planning Committee will be having an Art Competition.
