General Achievement Test (GAT)

Who?

All students enrolled in one or more VCE or score VCE VET unit 3 & 4 Sequence must sit the GAT

When?

13-June, 10am-1:15pm. Meet at 9:30am sharp!

Where

Meet in the Canteen Courtyard, GAT will be completed in the Old Gymnasium

Why?

Although GAT results do not count directly towards a student’s VCE results, they play an important role in checking that school-based and external assessments have been accurately assessed, and in calculating a Derived Examination Score (for students who are ill or affected by other personal circumstances at the time of a VCE external assessment)

What?

The GAT is a 3 hour test of general knowledge and skills that includes two writing tasks and 70 multiple choice questions on topics that include written communication, mathematics, science, technology, humanities, the arts and social sciences.

What else?

You cannot study specifically for the GAT, however you can complete past GAT questions here http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/Pages/vce/exams/gat/gat.aspx

You can bring an English and/or bilingual printed dictionary and must bring Blue/Black pens, Pencils in a transparent (i.e. plastic pocket) case

Year 11 Formal

All Year 11 Students are invited to attend the 2018 Year 11 Formal. 

When: Friday 7th September 2018

Where: Lincoln Of Toorak

Time: 6.30pm for a 7.30pm start

Cost: $90 (Deposit of $40 is due by 18/05)

The cost includes a three course meal, unlimited soft drink and light entertainment.

We anticipate a fantastic and rewarding evening, and look forward to celebrating the evening with the Year 11 students.

The Road To Medicine Seminar

The Road to Medicine is a free seminar for year 11 and 12 students interested in studying medicine. Over the course of the day student will hear from Monash University staff and current medical students to assist them understand the entry requirements of studying medicine and provide preparation techniques for the UMAT.

Raven Writers

Do you enjoy writing short stories? Maybe poetry is more your thing? The Raven Writers are a group of HPSC students who meet in T8 every Monday lunchtime. We eat, drink hot chocolate and write! We plan to make regular ‘zines’ so your writing will be available for the school community.
