Assistant Principals Report

School Uniform

It is timely to remind the college community of the current uniform policy and the need for all students to adhere to the items on the list. As we are a College that places a great deal of importance on our Values, it is considered imperative that all students in the College follow our College Uniform Policy as approved by School Council.

We have been concerned that some students and families are still confused as to what is correct uniform, and that other students make a deliberate decision not to wear the correct College uniform.

Some of the main uniform items that are regularly ignored are:

  • College pants – these are tailored black pants, not chinos, cargo, or any other tight or short styles of pants.
  • School shoes – these are black leather school shoes, not Vans, runners or any other variation. The only acceptable shoes are pictured above.
  • Hats – plain black with no coloured or embossed logo.
  • College shorts – these are tailored black shorts, not cargo or ones with pockets, or any other variation.
  • White shirts and blouses, grey polo shirts – these are from the uniform list and must have the College logo.
  • No long sleeves to be worn under short-sleeved school-shirts or polo shirts. Shirts worn as under-shirts must not be visible.
  • Loose fitting black leggings only can be worn under the summer dress.
  • Close fitting black long-sleeves may be worn under the summer dress. Neck-line of under-shirt must not be visible.
  • Scarves – to be plain black or white.
  • Head-dress - to be plain black or white
  • Socks – plain black or white with no logo or symbol.
  • Black socks only to be worn with leggings or tights (winter skirt)

All students are expected to be in the approved uniform and the College will be following up on students that do not comply with wearing of the correct school uniform.

Any student in Years 7-10 who attends school in the incorrect uniform will have their parents/caregivers contacted so as their parent/carer can bring correct uniform to school for their child.

Students in Years 11 and 12, will be sent home to change into correct uniform and will then need to redeem lost time.

Where a student cannot comply with the above, they will be removed from the school community to work in a separate area of the school. They will not be disadvantaged with regards to their education as all class work is accessible on Compass. These students will follow a separate timetable for recess and lunch.

We are confident that you will support the College in ensuring we all present ourselves to the community proudly in a consistent uniform.
