Yr 6: What did you do if you got lost?
Both: Stood on a log to look around and make ourselves taller or followed another group with people that we trusted.
Yr 6: How can you improve for next time?
Mackenzie: Not going to far out, learn to read the map, and to check the time more often.
Yr 6: What are you most proud of?

Welcome Back Mrs Newsome
We are delighted to welcome Mrs Newsome back after her overseas trip. She has been missed by students and co-teachers, very much.
Miss Cannon
We have been fortunate to have Miss Cannon with us for the last 4 weeks for her first teaching experience in a primary classroom. Miss Cannon, who studies externally with Macquarie University, has worked closely with many Year 3 students and has provided them with engaging and fun activities in both Maths and Literacy. We thank Miss Cannon for her dedication over the last 4 weeks and wish her the very best for her future in teaching.
Maths
We have been working on Chance and Data this term. The students have collected data, organised it and created graphs to display their data. They have conducted simple chance experiments, determining possible outcomes and recording their findings.
Literacy
In Literacy groups we have been having fun reading poetry and creating verse about many different topics. The students will be working on using a variety of poetic devices as they create alliteration poems, this week.
We have been very happy with the improvements we are seeing in reading and spelling skills and encourage the children to continue reading at home as much as possible. It is very beneficial for their overall literacy development.
Geography
Year 3 have been working on a slide show about our closest neighbours e.g Tonga, Fiji, Indonesia etc. They have been researching these places and discovering interesting facts about their size, location, population and climate.
Science
The topic for Science this term is Heating Up. This unit allows the students to identify ways heat is produced and that heat moves from one object to another.
Religion
This is our 4th week of learning about the importance of having a strong relationship with God and with others. The students have given a lot of thought to how they can have loving relationships with family, friends and 'neighbours' as well as maintaining a close friendship with God. This week we are looking at the 2nd and 8th commandments.
Health
Our focus for this term is staying happy, healthy and safe - looking at safety in many aspects of our daily lives.
