BRAIN  OLYMPIA

On Tuesday 31st October St Mary’s sent 2 teams to compete in the regional cluster of Brain Olympia. All children had a great day and competed very well in all sections.

After 5 rounds of general knowledge questions our teams were doing very well. Our 2 teams scored well in the problem solving and were both given a special mention in the public speaking praising the way they wrote and delivered their speech with the topic ‘Our Favourite Place.’ The last section was the drama where the teams were given the topic “Little Red Riding Hood”.  Once again our teams were given a special mention on the way they presented their skit and the storyline they came up with in such a short time.

At the end of the competition St Mary’s Team 2 was awarded first place with our Team 1 third by one mark. Congratulations to both teams on a terrific day. Team 2 now travels to Narrabri next Tuesday to compete in the regional finals. Good luck.

The children will present the skits from last week at assembly on Friday.

BOOK  FAIR

A big thank you to all parents and friends who supported our recent book fair both at the fete and in the library. With the money raised we were able to buy just over a $1000 dollars worth of books for our school. Thank You.
