Students to Remain Focused
Students are still very busy completing work, and in some cases, have started looking and working on topics that they will be studying next year. The students have been reminded that even though report writing day is over, it is still important to remain focused and look towards what is in store for 2020. Despite what your child may say to you, learning does take place until the end of year. The days are longer and warmer and we are all thinking about the upcoming holidays, however, it is very important that students still maintain a normal routine and are ready for school each day.
Dunhelen Sports Day
Dunhelen students will be participating in the Dunhelen Sports day on Tuesday 10 December. The Year 7 students will be period 1 and 2, Year 8 in period 3 and 4 and Year 9 will be period 5. Dunhelen students can attend school in their PE uniform on the day, only if they are participating. Students must bring their iPad and correct books to school in case of inclement or hot weather.
Community Involvement
By the time you read this newsletter, a select group of Dunhelen students will have hosted an afternoon tea for a group of elderly citizens from the Pascoe Vale Retirement Village. The students have been very busy preparing food to serve and trying to hone in on their conversational skills. There will be some photos and more about this in the next newsletter. We are hoping to continue to provide this type of community involvement for our students in the future. Watch this space!
2019 Presentation Night and Final Assembly
A reminder of our Presentation Night and Final Assembly next week. These events allow us to come together as a community and celebrate what the students have achieved throughout the year. Congratulations to all Dunhelen students and particularly students who will be awarded School Colours, Encouragement or Subject Awards. Your hard work is recognised and you should be very proud of your achievements.
