Principals Message

Dear Parents,

It was really lovely to see so many of our fathers and grandfathers turn up for our breakfast barbeque last Friday. We had some generous offers from parents to help cook but the breakfast is something the staff like to do to recognise the father figures in the St Xavier’s community. It is the same for the Mother’s day morning tea, it is our way of recognising our parents and grandparents and showing you all how much we appreciate you. Thank you also to the people who donated eggs and bacon.

The deadline for the School Satisfaction Survey has been and gone and shortly we will receive the results. Thank you to the parents who take the time to give encouraging feedback. We are always very humbled by the positive, kind, supportive comments. They go a long way in helping us feel supported and valued.

I am always encouraged by the parents who choose to offer constructive comments about things we might be able to improve on. We value those comments and certainly take them on board as we review our practices. A few parents choose the anonymous platform to write hurtful, personal things about the staff, the children and the school. Thankfully this only comes from a few people. I do not share these comments with the staff, I choose to ignore them as they are neither helpful or constructive.

We really appreciate the parents who contact the school and discuss any concerns in an honest, responsible way, you are the people who help affect change.

We are all very excited about the plans for the new build which is set to commence in 2020. Next Wednesday evening in the Hall there will be a presentation of the design of the new buildings. The audience will see how some buildings are being refurbished and how the new and refurbished will be connected. The impact of this project will be far reaching, beyond the school community. The future of catholic education in Gunnedah is bright and exciting.

Kind regards,

Jen
