Interschool Cross Country -Year Seven
On the 31st of May 2019, 14 lucky people from St Anne's College got to go to Princess Park and run in a competitive "cross country" race which was 3 kilometres in length. The top 15 people to cross the finish line have made it to the next stage. From St Anne's there were 3 boys and 2 girls who made it though to the next stage and I was one of them as I finished 4th in the 12 & 13 year old age group for boys. The next stage is for the top 15 people to travel to Winton Motor Raceway to participate in the Hume Region Secondary School Cross Country Championships on Wednesday 19th June 2019.
On the day of he run, all 14 of us jumped on the bus at 11:30 and drove of to Princess Park to do compete, the other St Anne's students were Xander R, Riley C, Caiden P, Benjamin C, Liam H and myself Lucas Y and the girls were Zoe M, Tess M, Lila G, Izzy F, Charli G, Molly R, Brooke L and Ella D. When we got there we started doing our stretches and we all went to the toilet. I was very nervous while I was waiting for the race to start and when I lined up to run I looked around me and saw a lot of bigger kids that looked like they were going to thrash everyone. I was so glad that they used a whistle instead of a gun because that would have made me even more nervous.
I think I ran pretty well and so did the other boys and girls. The students who made it to the next level are myself, Xander R, Caidan P, Lila Guthrie and Brooke Linnett. After the race I was just about to fall over because I used up all my energy and that night I was really stiff and sore.
