Investiture

The baimbridge College Investiture will be held on Friday next week, the whole school will witness the Year 12's and students who hold a Leadership Position will pledge to uphold the values of our school.  The ceremony will take place at 2PM in the gym, parents should have received a letter in the mail inviting you to attend.

Leadership Lunch

The Welcome to leaders luncheon was held on Tuesday Feb 18th and over 45 of our new leaders and a multitude of staff were in WB1 to enjoy each other’s company and some healthy food options supplied by our canteen.

Students were treated to some advice on their roles for 2019 and also to inform them further about the upcoming leadership investiture day on Friday March 8th starting at 2.00pm in the West Gym.

At this event all student leaders will be presented to the School Council president, Principal and our major and they will all receive their badges of office. They will also be required to recite the leadership pledge in front of all of their peers.

We look forward to seeing some photos of this event also in a future edition.

Laneway Community Project

Participating in a contemporary street art project provided the opportunity for Baimbridge College Art Club student’s, Emma, Abbey, Zoe, Olivia, Corey, Eddie, Sarah and Rebecca to collaborate with local community artists’ to create a Laneway mural in Hamilton’s CBD. The students spent considerable time in the lead up to the event, researching, discussing possibilities, finding inspirational images that could inform their artwork. Ultimately, the students decided on the theme, The Garden of knowledge. The students created a floral garden mural, consisting of giant flowers in all the brightest colours, as well as a garden sign post on which the students wrote words of empowerment, Inspire, Hope, Dream, Calm and Love.

The Laneway community art project was the initiative of local artist Jasmine Mansbridge, who was tasked to implement the project by the South Grampians Shire Council. It was fun working on such a large mural in the public domain. The student’s and I wish to express our gratitude and thank Jasmine and the Shire for making the event possible.

Outdoor Ed

15  Year 11 fast trackers completing VCE Unit 3/4 Outdoor Education & Environmetal studies are due back later this afternoon from Queenscliffe, this excursion enabled the students to draw on outdoor experiences and relate them to theoretical studies. This will strengthen their understanding and assist them in their responses during SACS and in the End of Year Exam. It is aimed at broadening their knowledge and understanding in regard to a variety of relationships with the outdoors, from before human habitation in Australia until today and into the future.  Plus they swam with dolphins.  Dolphins!

Athletics Carnival this Thursday

We are calling on our community to not only provide shelter from the sun by lending us some gazebos but we also ask that if you have time to spare, could you please volunteer as a helper for the day, a working with children check will need to be sighted please.

Immunisation Forms

All year 7's should have their immunisation forms back by now please.  If you need another one please contact the school as we have minimal spares.

Can you please help??

Our canteen is in desperate need of volunteers.  With limited names on the roster in 2019 (thank you  thank you thank you for your contribution to our school to those who have volunteered) we are calling for volunteers.

We do not care how long you can give.  One hour will be better than nothing.

Our canteen has already lost one trading day and the students miss that dearly.  Without volunteers we could lose another.

If you are able to assist please complete the form below and return it to school.  We appreciate anything we receive from our volunteers.
