Library Lovers Day

Whilst people outside the library might have celebrated Valentine’s Day on 14th February, we in the Library celebrated Library Lovers Day.  Many student wrote about what they loved about the Library on either a heart or a cabbage leaf.  Here is the display that we made using the hearts and the leaves.  Some comments included – “I love the new nooks”, “I love all the books and the quietness of the library” and “Books take me to another dimension”.

The Book Fair is Here!

Monday 2nd March to Friday 6th March

Reading for pleasure unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are. Here’s what you can do to help children develop stronger reading skills and a love for reading:

  • Set the example. Let children see you read.
  • Have a collection of books in your home. Update this collection routinely to keep up with changing tastes and reading skills.
  • Support our school’s Book Fair. Allow your children to choose their own books to read. Children who choose their own books are more likely to read them.

The theme of our Scholastic Book Fair is Enchanted Forest, where we hope you will let their imagination grow!

It’s a fun reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into our school – like having our very own bookshop at school. There will be a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits.

The Book Fair will be held in the Library and will be open between 8:30am and 9:00am, and 3:30pm and 4:00pm each day of the Book Fair (Monday 2nd March – Friday 6th March), and also during our Family Fun Night from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.  EFTPOS will be available.

We will also be having a very, very special book character coming to visit us during Book Fair Week.  I wonder who can guess who it will be????

I’m looking forward to meeting you all during the Book Fair Week.
