Eisteddfod Update

Armidale Eisteddfod
Well done to the many talented individual students and groups who performed in the Armidale Eisteddfod.
Our choral group, who have only recently formed and are developing their skills as a group, performed beautifully as part of the Choir Night.
This week we had several class group ensembles compete with some success. Year 7Teal and 7Red came 1st and 2nd consecutively in their section. Our Year 9 Elective class gave a splendid performance of "Runaway", receiving a 2nd place for their fabulous efforts. "The Chain" was an excellent choice of song performed by Year 11 Music and, against some fairly stiff competition, managed to gain 2nd place.

String Group
The string group had a fantastic result at the Eisteddfod where they took out 1st place in the large ensemble, bowed instrument section. Two fantastic pieces that had the audience clapping and tapping along.
This is a really special win as it is the first time the group have played together as ASC....and if you look closely at the photo you can see the trophy had been held by PLC for the past 10 years!
Well done everyone and a big thank you to our amazing music staff!
