School Start Time

A reminder that school commences at 8.50am each morning. Students need to make every effort to be at school before this time.

The first lesson of the day - CREW - includes activities that relate to the well-being of the students as well as provide an opportunity for the teachers to connect with the students and provide daily notices and information.

ASC P&C

A motion was made at the recent public meeting to establish an Armidale Secondary College P&C. The meeting was well supported by the school community and General Manager, Steve Carpenter, from P&C Federation attended to support the establishment process and answer questions that arose.  

A volunteer working group has been formed to undertake the necessary legislative requirements and will prepare a structure proposal for  Foundation Meeting which will be held 12 June at 6pm in the Staff Common room. 

Please can all those who attend the Foundation Meeting, please bring $1 each for P&C membership fees. 

Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting and to those who have undertaken to facilitate the set-up process. 

Special Religious Instruction

Asking questions is the key to learning and in Christian SRE students are encouraged to Question Life, Explore Values and Discover Faith. Students often ask BIG questions about the Christian faith and its relevance to their lives in their Christian SRE classrooms. Asking questions begins the journey to knowledge and understanding. The Christian SRE bus campaign across NSW showcases some of the questions asked by real students in SRE classes.

SRE is offered fortnightly at Armidale Secondary College to students in Years 7-10, and once a term for senior students, following the Think Faith SRE curriculum. A parent/carer may at any time notify the school in writing to change their child’s participation in SRE.

NCCD

The Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) on School Students with Disability is an annual collection that counts the number of school students receiving an adjustment due to disability and the level of adjustment they are receiving to access education on the same basis as other students.

We are currently collating data for NCCD here at ASC. Information for parents about the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data is attached in link.

School Social 

Our school captains are organising a school social as a fundraiser for “Beyond Blue”. This is a school supported event and will be supervised by teaching staff. The social will be strictly accessible to ASC students only.

No students will be permitted to leave during the event and we ask for parents to please collect their children at 9pm sharp.

We look forward to supporting this fabulous initiative, which is not only a great opportunity for the students to socialise and have fun, but also benefits a good cause.

Earn & Learn

Earn and Learn stickers are still available from Woolworths. Please collect and return either to the school, or pop into the collection bins outside the store. 

These stickers provide fabulous resources to our Support Unit and our Sports faculty.
